This is the Moon at 86% phase photographed on 11 September 2025.
This color image is an interpretation of the mineral composition of the Moon’s surface: warm orange tones correspond to areas with high iron oxide content, while blue hues highlight basalts with high titanium content. This was achieved by enhancing the saturation to emphasize geological contrasts. I also used the HDR method of stacking different exposures to preserve the texture in light and dark areas. I managed to reveal the dark side of the Moon a little. Notice the various optical phenomena observed on the photo: rainbow around the Moon due to dispersion, diffraction rays due to the construction of Newtonian telescope.
